About

I’m currently semi-retired and pursuing non-traditional sources of income – meaning I’m living off savings and trying to make money online so I can avoid the “9-5” life. I have some specific ideas on what my new lifestyle should look like; I don’t want to simply work-at-home.  The criteria for my new lifestyle is similar to the new “location independent” or “digital nomad” lifestyles except I don’t expect to travel quite as much as those enthusiasts (though traveling is definitely part of the plan!). My criteria is:

  • Set my own hours – work for however long I want whenever I want
  • Location independent – I’m not required to be anywhere at anytime and can continue working while I’m traveling (if I feel like it)
  • Minimal customer service requirements – without a consistent paycheque, I need to economize on the time spent chatting with folks.
  • No inventory requirements – as part of my planning for this lifestyle, I’ve downsized and don’t have room for stock
  • No financial transaction responsibilities – with financial transaction responsibilities comes sales tax remittance responsibilities and some customer service responsibilities so I find everything is simpler if I just leave the financial transactions to someone else.
  • Zero cost – or very little at most.

I plan to use this site to document my efforts and help point others seeking a similar lifestyle in directions that might suit them. In addition to information on where I’m making money online (and where I’m not), this site will also run ads and some (possibly most or even all) of my posts will contain affiliate links.

This site will collect no personally identifiable data on you as all transactions resulting from affiliate links will be conducted on the vendor website, without further tracking from PennyCharmer.  PennyCharmer will retain an email address for you should you opt-in to any maillists or newsletters until or unless you unsubscribe.

I’m enjoying this version of my life, and I hope you find the information here at PennyCharmer useful!
