The Start of 2016

zRank Update – I’m still focused on my other Zazzle store and have now completed its clean-up (more or less).  To help boost my zRank, I’ve started performing regular maintenance on my stores, checking my 180+ days products and setting any with zero views to Direct-Only; everything else in my stores will have at least one view (from me) so once I perform my maintenance, I’m left with no zero-view items in my store. I’m also trying to maintain a consistent ratio betw... Read More | Share it now!

What I’ve Been Up To This Fall 2015

What I’ve Been Up To So, I know I said I was going to experiment with my PennyCharmer store on Zazzle to figure out Zazzle‘s whole zRank thing, but when my main store got zRank’d a 2 out of 10, I figured I’d better work on that one first.   And that is where I’ve focused all of my online efforts for the past two months. I got my main store up to a 4 out of 10 but haven’t been able to budge it any higher since then.  To get to the 4, I hid about 90% of my produ... Read More | Share it now!

The zRank PoD Reboot

The Changes This month Zazzle introduced new Designer and Store Profiles, and something called zRank.  zRank is being introduced to assist designers in gauging how well their store will do in the Zazzle Marketplace, and will eventually become one of the metrics used to determine a store’s ranking in the Zazzle Marketplace. zRank provides a score from 1 – 10, with 10 being optimum, as well as some general advice on how to best achieve a higher ranking. The Effect Well, after reading t... Read More | Share it now!

Society6: First Impressions

In an effort to avoid that whole “eggs in one basket” thing, I’ve opened up a new PennyCharmer store at Society6.  I’ve been there less than 24 hours but wanted to share my first impressions of Society6. The three things on Society6 that have stood out the most for me are: seems more strongly oriented toward visual artists than say commercial artists fairly straight forward to get started and apply your image to their products no customization available to the artist or ... The Future is Here And It’s In 3D

I’m living in the future with my latest obsession – 3D printing!  If you’re like me, you’ve been hearing about 3D printing for a couple of years now and you’ve been seeing the nifty 3D prints of colourful plastics and interlocking shapes.  And if you’re like me, you’ve thought “cool” and promptly moved on to the next thing. Recently though, I stumbled upon the 3D printing site Shapeways and there began my new obsession.  Shapeways offers 3D p... Read More | Share it now!

Revenue Streams: Why Zazzle

Zazzle Zazzle is a Print-On-Demand service. They offer a wide variety of products that you can customize and/or personalize with your own photos, designs and/or names. You can do a one-off print or as many as you like; you can do it just for yourself, or you can join Zazzle as a “Designer” and offer your work for sale to others in Zazzle’s Marketplace and in your Zazzle store. Please note, Print-On-Demand sites are not get rich quick schemes for anyone but the very lucky few. W... Read More | Share it now!

Getting Ready for 2015

I still haven’t found my perfect online career, but my PoD efforts are looking promising (not a get rich quick scheme by any stretch of the imagination though).  I’ve spent most of my time over the last year learning the ins-and-outs of PoDs, and the tools for creating image files, and I still have much to learn.  I do believe my PoD stores could provide a reasonable part-time income source for me at some point in the future. When I first started looking at making money online I flitted here and... Read More | Share it now!
