The zRank PoD Reboot

The Changes

This month Zazzle introduced new Designer and Store Profiles, and something called zRank.  zRank is being introduced to assist designers in gauging how well their store will do in the Zazzle Marketplace, and will eventually become one of the metrics used to determine a store’s ranking in the Zazzle Marketplace.

zRank provides a score from 1 – 10, with 10 being optimum, as well as some general advice on how to best achieve a higher ranking.

The Effect

Well, after reading the general zRank advice and some additional info in the very helpful forums, I’ve determined I’ve been using Quick Create wrong in all my stores – I haven’t been changing the titles, description and tags within batches or amongst other batches with the same designs.  To address this oopsie, I’ve been spending a fair amount of time trying to cleanup my mess, mostly hiding products from the public and zRank, and mostly in my other larger store.   So far I haven’t been able to get my low zRank score of “2” to change in any of my stores.

The Reboot

Since my PennyCharmer store is smaller and produces less sales for me at the moment, I’ve decided to “reboot” it to determine which of the changes I’m making will actually affect my zRank.   I’ll be making one set of changes at a time and keeping a log; I’ll post the results once I start seeing them – changes can take 24-48 hours to effect our zRank scores so it will be a bit of a slow go but hopefully I’ll be able to learn and share something useful!

Anyway.. wish me luck!!
